Verda means green.
Hold that thought. It pays off at the end.
GPU clouds operate on a financial equation. Finance chips on debt, lease them out at a rate that pays the debt back over 3-5 years, and hope utilization and GPU market rates hold up.
Verda is the exception to this equation. The Helsinki company, founded in 2020, hit a $165M annualized revenue run rate in July 2026, roughly doubling from the start of the year while cash-flow positive. Verda’s customers include 1X, Freepik, and ExpressVPN.
That’s why we’re leading Verda’s $189M Series B, bringing its valuation to $1B+.
The Third Leg
We’ve invested in the economics of AI infrastructure since 2023, when we first backed Together on the view that enterprises would run many open and custom models rather than rent one closed one. Together is now the production platform for open-source AI, with CARR exceeding $1B. We recently doubled down on Arcee, which is proving American labs can build frontier-scale open-weight AI.
Open models only win if they are cheap to run. That requires power, cooling, and chips built into a cloud that makes compute usable, and a team that keeps it all live.
Together is the AI production platform. Arcee is pushing open-weight models forward. Verda is the infrastructure layer that makes both possible.
Why the Nordics
CEO Ruben Bryon believes that adding compute capacity shouldn’t mean ignoring the carbon footprint that comes with it. The Nordics have deep pools of electrical capacity and one of the cleanest grids in the world. Verda's Finnish data centers run on 100% renewable power, and the company is actively looking for ways to bring down the carbon footprint of compute worldwide.
Europe needs more AI infrastructure of its own. As AI adoption grows, European companies care where their compute runs and who operates it. Verda provides a European sovereign option.
The Long View
When I asked Ruben what success looks like twenty or thirty years from now, he talked about building a company that becomes a magnet for technical talent across Europe and gives ambitious builders a reason to stay and push European technology forward.
AI infrastructure is where that starts. Verda has shown it can build out capacity, run it profitably, and put it in customers' hands.
Green power. Green numbers. The name checks out.
