Sam is an Associate at Emergence Capital. Prior to Emergence, Sam worked at Qatalyst Partners where he worked with many of the most innovative tech companies as they navigated pivotal moments in their lifecycle. His time at Qatalyst ignited his passion for working with founders and CEOs and deepened his appreciation for the strategic decisions – product, market, team – that compound into a great outcome years later, which now shapes how he thinks about backing companies at the earliest stage.

Sam grew up in Shanghai, China and graduated from UCLA, where he studied Computer Science. Outside of work, he enjoys watching sports, playing basketball, and finding the best sushi in SF.
