Kristy Landers is the Chief Financial Officer at Emergence Capital, where she leads the firm’s finance and operations functions and helps shape how the business scales. She works closely with the investment team and limited partners, with a focus on building systems that are both rigorous and practical - and that make it easier for people to do their best work.
Kristy has spent nearly 20 years in venture capital and is known for being a hands-on, pragmatic leader. She cares as much about how a team operates day-to-day as she does about the numbers, and she’s built her career around making complex financial and operational work feel clear, efficient, and well-run.
Before joining Emergence, she was CFO at Unusual Ventures, where she helped build the firm’s infrastructure from the ground up, including launching a new LP portal and putting in place systems that improved transparency and reporting. Prior to that, she led finance at August Capital, where she modernized processes and supported the firm through a period of change.
She started her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers working with venture capital clients, which gave her a strong foundation in partnership structures and fund operations - expertise she still draws on today.
Kristy holds a BA from UC Santa Cruz and an MS in Accountancy from San José State University.
