Michael is an Associate at Emergence Capital Partners. He has over 5 years of experience in the internet and high
tech sectors, and possesses a long standing obsession with high tech services and gadgets.
Prior to joining Emergence, Michael was a Manager on the Corporate Strategy team at eBay Inc., the world's leading e-commerce company. His team supported operating executives throughout the Marketplaces Business Unit, including the Core eBay Marketplace, Shopping.com, Global Classifieds, and vertical businesses such as Stubhub.com and Rent.com. Michael led projects across the entire spectrum of technology business strategy, including competitive intelligence, external trends and market assessments, operational strategy, growth strategy, M&A evaluation, and strategic visioning. Before joining eBay, Michael was a Business Analyst with PRTM, a global management consulting firm specializing in delivering operational strategy for technology driven clients. While at PRTM, he was dedicated to the high tech practice. His projects spanned the telecommunications, software, biotech, and aerospace industries. Michael graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He was designated a Joseph Wharton Scholar and also served as president of the Wharton Ambassadors. Outside of work, Michael enjoys hiking, running, independent film festivals, and all manner of games of psychology, probability, and partial information, from poker to fantasy football.
